She Said Beauty April Box

Wrapped beauty box

I was very excited when my first She Said Beauty box arrived! This box did not disappoint, and I am really chuffed with all the goodies. Lets not waste any time with chit-chat here and get straight to business and see what is inside:

Contents of the She Said Beauty box

Here we have:

Comfort Zone: Body Expert Kit
Selection of tester sachets
I’ve not heard of Comfort Zone, so this set is a lovely introduction to the brand and the products. I’m really impressed with the display and presentation of these sample sachets and I will be using them all over the coming week or two.

Filthy Gorgeous Nail Polish
Bottle of Filthy Gorgeous nail polish in red
I’ve seen these polishes in Debenhams, though I’ve not tried them before. They cost £9 each which has put me off as I don’t think the packaging looks like a £9 polish: the shape reminds me so much of cheap Spectacular nail polish! My local Debenhams only stocks the glitter shades and the magnetic polishes, so I was unaware that Filthy Gorgeous do solid colours until I got this box.

My bottle did not come with the Filthy Gorgeous plectrum charm, or a label on the bottom to tell me what shade it is. Grrr. I hate not knowing what it is! I’ve looked at the Filthy Gorgeous site, and I think this shade is either ‘Fire Engine Red’ or possibly ‘Vampish’. Not sure though… Grumble over, I love the colour and I cant wait to wear it!

Bella Pierre Shimmer Powder: ‘Champagne’
Pot of shimmer powder
This shimmer powder it utterly gorgeous and I know I will use it a lot. It’s very easy to blend and a little goes a long way. This is a full-sized item that should cost £12.99. I love it because I would never have bought this having never heard of the brand before. I’m going to keep a look out for Bella Pierre stuff in the future though as this is lovely.

Look at how sparkly and pretty it is!:

Mischa Barton Luscious Lips: PinkPop
Pot of lip balm by Mischa Barton
According to She Said Beauty, these lip pots retail for £12 each… it’s really not worth that! This is at most a lip balm, and it’s not an amazing one at that – nowhere near as good as good old Carmex! There is no real colour to the balm, but in its favour it does have SPF15 which is very good. Perhaps the celebrity endorsement is just not enough for me?

Bharti Vyas: ‘The Ultimate Therapy Face and Neck Polisher’
I’ve not photographed this separately as I didn’t think it needed to be. This is a sample of a face scrub, and its a pretty small sample in a little pot, which makes it hard to get at. I don’t see why they didn’t put it in a squeezy tube as that is what the full size product is sold in? The full-size tube costs £22.50 and I would not pay that. The scrub is nice enough, but it’s not a patch on my Elemis one so I wouldn’t buy it.

In addition to these goodies, I also received a Lindt chocolate egg for Easter and a set of Erno Laszlo sample sachets! These were lovely and welcome touches and made the box feel very special. I received the Erno Laszlo samples in my March GlossyBox as one of their ‘main’ items and getting it as a free bonus in this box makes me feel a little like GlossyBox were being a bit cheap. Perhaps She Said Beauty are just trying harder to impress to gain some market share. Whatever it is, I like what they are doing and will be eagerly waiting the May box!
